Description

This training provides information and skills to support healthcare professionals when they communicate with patients about relationship health. At the end of this training, participants will be able to identify how the levels of relationship health impact patients health, identify elements of abuse and violence, and identify appropriate responses to patient’s experiences with violence and abuse.

Understanding the Prevalence and Impact of Violence and Abuse Among Children

Description

This presentation trains childcare workers, school professionals, and anyone else who works with children on the topic of how experiences with Violence and Abuse. Participants will increase their understanding of violence and abuse, develop their knowledge about the social, emotional and cognitive effects of exposure to violence and abuse on young children, and discuss links between experiences children may  be having at home and difficulties they are having in the child care, school, or other social setting

  • Increased understanding about the prevalence of violence and abuse in society
  • Increased knowledge about the social, emotional and cognitive effects of exposure to violence and abuse has on young children
  • Discuss links between experiences children may have as direct victims and witnesses of violence and abuse and difficulties they are having in your professional setting

 Childcare Providers, School Personnel, College Students, Social Workers and professionals working with children.

Fee Schedule for Educational Trainings

Workshops/Trainings are provided at a rate of $75 per hour for non-profit agencies, $100 per hour for for-profit agencies with no additional fee for prep or travel time in the Twin Cities metro area.
