UPCOMING EVENT

2009 DOG FEST
Date & Time: June 20, 10 am to 2 pm.
Location: Minnehaha Park Wabun Picnic Area 4655 - 46th St. S., Minneapolis

Here is the schedule for the event:

Schedule of Activities
10am to 2pm
• Snacks provided by: Target; or visit the Dog House vendor for fun food
• Visit vendor booths
• Children visit the Dog Education area provided by: Rottalove
• Dog Socialization area provided by: Downtown Dogs DayCare Minneapolis
• Find a new friend from Pet Haven and Second Chance Rescue
• Games, Face painting, photos with Target Mascot, Arts and Crafts and more!

10:30am: Agility Course – provided by The Canine Coach: This demonstration will show you what dogs can do as they move through an obstacle course and then you can get a taste of this fun activity with your own dog. A Canine Coach trainer will be there to assist you.

11:00am: Ask the Vet – provided by Dr. Kate An Hunter, Carver Lake Veterinary Clinic and frequent guest of MN Public Radio (MPR): Dr Hunter will answer your pet health questions.

11:30am: Rally Course – provided by Dogue Spot Training Center: See a rally demonstration and learn how to “rally” with your own dog. Dogue Spot Dog Training experts will show you how it’s done.

12 Noon: “Paws on Parade” – provided by Bark Avenue on Parade: You and your dog can participate in a short parade around the park.

12:30pm: Ask the Trainer – provided by The Canine Coach: “Why does my dog do that?” Answers to your dog behavior questions.

1pm: Pet First Aid provided by Dr. Kate An Hunter: Learn the basics of first aid for your furry friend. “Musical Freestyle” by Ansel the Wonder Dog:

1:30 Dog Contest: Register for contest prior to 1:30
Prizes will be rewarded for top 3 winners for each category and a grand prize for winner of Best In Show.

• I Look Like My Dog (owner/dog look-a-like contest)
• Best Dancer
• Best In Show – All 1st place winners to compete
